07 May F.R.E.D.I Wins Big At BFF
In the summer of 2017, Rockhill Studios along with Skipstone Pictures to produce movie F.R.E.D.I. Rockhill Studios was created to build the digital media industry in NWA and Executive Producer, Johnny Remo visited the Bentonville Film Festival two years prior and knew he had to go home and write a movie that could be shot in NWA.
Through their partnership they were able to secure notable landmarks in NWA to shoot in including Crystal Bridges and the Bentonville Square. “I just want to thank the city of Bentonville,” Remo said. “It’s unlike shooting anywhere else. People open up their homes and businesses – like Crystal Bridges. I understand we were the first to ever shoot a movie there.”
The film follows a 15 year old boy’s journey who finds a lovable robot, F.R.E.D.I. in the woods. When he finds the robot has been stolen from his laboratory, a journey of unique friendship unfolds.
Rockhill is very proud of this project which won Best of the Fest at BFF in 2018 and premiered at the Skylight Theater in Bentonville.
